This year, Sing for Water North will be held on Saturday 10th June in Accrington – a small but perfectly formed version of our great North West effort with all the usual ingredients – 4 beautiful songs to learn and sing together and the usual busking in the centre of Accrington at the end of the afternoon.
Arrangements for the day
All the learning and performance is this year going to happen on the one day (10 June). The learning will take place indoors with Jules Gibb, Olwyn Pearce and Janet Swan – we will start at 10am with a break for lunch around 12.45. The performance will be in Accrington Town Centre at approximately 3.15 and we will be finishing by 4.00pm at the latest.
There will be no rehearsals this year – all the learning will happen on the SfWN day in Accrington (with some songs also be taught by choir leaders across the North West).
Because of this, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the songs beforehand. All registered individuals can get access to the song files on the website at https://singforwaternorth.wordpress.com/singers-area/. A password will be emailed to you once you have registered and made your donation. The song files can be listened to on the site or can be downloaded to your computer, tablet or phone.
If you are in a choir or singing group, your MD will pass on information and may teach the songs, but they will not register you for the event.
Each singer (including choir MD’s) will be required to register as an individual using the form below.
If you wish to register to take part in Sing For Water North 2017, please complete the form below. Please note that this form must be completed for each individual, group bookings cannot be accepted
Please make sure that you fill in both pages of the registration form and press the ‘submit’ button at the end to ensure that your registration is sent to us. If you do not receive an email within a few minutes then you have not completed the form correctly.
Don’t forget that as part of your registration to also visit our Justgiving page to make your £15 donation.
Once your registration has been processed, you will receive an email with confirmation of rehearsals (if applicable) and how to access the Singers’ Area for more details about the songs and arrangements for the day itself. Please contact us if you have any further queries.
As at previous events, rather than asking participants to raise sponsorship, each person taking part will be asked to donate a minimum of £15 to Water Aid via Sing for Water North 2016. You can of course get sponsorship or raise money through additional events if you wish and donate more! £15 has been chosen because it represents the amount that provides sustainable clean water and sanitation for one person.
Please note that we will not be accepting registrations or registration donations on the day (apart, of course, from contributions via the Sing for Water North bucket – which always makes an appearance!).
If possible, please make your donation when you register online. After you have completed the registration process, there will be a link to Sing for Water North’s Just Giving page. Donating via this link will allow you to add Gift Aid, if applicable, and thus raise more money for Water Aid. If you wish to make your donation at a later date, you can do so by simply going straight to the Just Giving address above.
