Learning to dance (and sing!) in Manchester

We had a great day at the first Manchester rehearsal yesterday at the Friends Meeting House, a new venue for us which seemed to work well.  Nearly 80 people came from far and wide to learn the songs that we will be performing on 12th June;  Jules, Jacqui and Olwyn really put us through our paces, we even learnt some dance moves!

Here are some photos from the day:

Participants pay £15 to register and a further £5 to attend each rehearsal. This means that for every singer who registers, £15 goes directly to WaterAid and provides clean water and sanitation for an individual in Africa. Any costs associated with running rehearsals are taken from the separate £5 with the remainder also going to WaterAid. We have not yet paid out all of the costs associated with yesterday and therefore we are not sure exactly how much extra will be donated to WaterAid from this rehearsal. However, excluding yesterday, our total so far this year now stands at £4,141 with the cumulative total since 2011 now at £29,546!

We do have a few places remaining at the second Manchester rehearsal in May but places are filling up fast so, if you would like to join us, please register soon!
