We sang for water in London and got it!

Approximately 30 members of Picturehouse choir, along with some friends from other choirs in the north west who took part in Sing for Water North, got on a coach very early on Saturday morning to make the long trip from Manchester down to London to take part in Sing for Water 2013.  The weather was fine for both rehearsals and our evening in London prior to the performance. However, as soon as we started singing for water, particularly singing to the goddess of the ocean, the heavens opened!  Apparently this is the first time in the more than ten years since the first Sing for Water event in London that we have sung for water and actually got wet!

Whilst in London we heard from both Helen Chadwick and Victoria Rouse who have both visited Africa and seen first-hand where the money we raise goes. Although we had great fun singing in the rain it is important to remember that 4000 children die every day from diseases relating to lack of clean water and sanitation. Every £15 donated to Water Aid provides sustainable clean water and sanitation for one person. You can still make donations to support us via the Sing for Water North 2013 justgiving page
